It looks as though this year, once again, we are going to struggle to find sufficient marshals to adequately staff our events and to put it bluntly, without marshals, we cannot run. Do you know anyone who may be interested in joining us to marshal at Aintree? Previous experience is not required as every newcomer will be placed with one of our “regulars”. We will normally only allow marshals out on Circuit if they are over 18, but there is still a vital role for younger trainees in the assembly area for example. If you know of anyone who may be interested in coming along to help, do please get in touch with our long suffering Chief Marshal, Bill Gray, who will soon be having sleepless nights wondering how he’s going to staff the first Sprint! Bill can be contacted on 01704 220 839 (7pm - 9pm) or, preferably, senf d him a message via the contacts page of the LMC website www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/about/contact-us/ Marshals are not required to join the Club by the way, and we always provide a buffet lunch and a contribution toward travel expenses. If there are any drivers out there who feel that they should be putting something back into the sport by marshalling the odd event, then please do get in touch too. Orange overalls are not compulsory!

So far, just 10 marshals have volunteered to marshal at the first sprint. If you are a regular marshal & you are coming along to help but haven't yet contacted Bill Gray to let him know you will be there, please do so ASAP to save him worrying about having enough people to run the event! If you've not marshalled at Aintree before & think you would like to get involved, please also get in touch will Bill, via our website at www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/about/contact-us/ There's no obligation, just have a chat with Bill first to see if it's for you!! There are jobs track side & in the assembly area too. Orange suits / previous experience not necessary!

Wow... where did they all come from? Many thanks to everyone who turned up to marshal at the April Sprint. You did a great job on a day with rather mixed weather, and many thanks for moving all the bales back onto the track for collection at the end.
What a great bunch of folk you all are!
See you at the track day on 30 May?

Hi all, Apologies for not publishing this before... Signing on is from 7.30am for the Track Day, (7am for sprints) and there will be a marshals briefing around 8.45am. First cars should be out on track by 9.45. We shall try to finish as near to 5pm as possible, give or take 10 mins.
Dont forget the sun-block! The sun is going to be pretty intense, even the met office are issuing warnings!
(Thanks for your help setting up this pm Pete. I'm sorry that you sort of got abandoned a bit, (I was trying to be everywhere at once) but your help was much appreciated nevertheless. JH)

Dont forget... the next event at Aintree is the Jack Neal Memorial Sprint on Saturday 27th June. As usual, marshals are required, so if you can make it - even for part of the day - please let Bill Gray know (contact details above).
Over 100 competitors entered, it should be a good day!

Thanks to event clashes, we are looking rather thin on the ground for marshals at the Aintree Sprint on 5th September. Can you help? Previous experience not essential. Please contact our Chief Marshal, Bill Gray on 01704 220 839 (eves), or John Harden 0161 969 7137 anytime, but before 10pm please!

i'll be there, y'all will be fine!! Can't you just tell he's been working the other side of the big pond for rather too long this year! ;D Welcome back Vanny, See you for setting up next Friday afternoon, 2pm (ish). Can't remember if we'd moved it last time you were at Aintree, but the container is now in the spectator area behind Country Corner. Access from Start Straight. If any golfers are about to tee off, please let them go first, so we dont upset them! Funny lot these golfers, they seem to be good at showing their displeasure by aiming at any cars in sight!

I'll be there tommorow, having missed the last 2 events through being on holiday for one and at Oulton for the 750MC for the September meet. Could be fun if the weather stays like it is now! I don't normally bother looking at forecasts as I'll be out in it regardless, but it looks to be pretty much the same as today (but then when did we ever trust weather forecasts..) Forecastsee you all tommorow , Leigh
