Liverpool Motor Club is helping the Sporting Bears Charity (Sporting Bears Motor Club - SBMC) with its "Dream Rides for Kids" event on Sunday 4th September at Aintree.
Normally, SBMC raises money for local children's charities by charging the public to ride in all sorts of exotic cars at events around the country. It raised over £4500 at the recent Cholmondeley Pageant event alone and 100% of the income is donated to local charities that look after disabled and/or ill children.
Now, it's time to provide some direct fun for the kids!
On Sunday 4th September, SBMC members will be bringing their cars to Aintree to give the kids themselves "Dream Rides" on the circuit. Many of the kids are disabled, several terminally ill, so what a fantastic day out this will be for them.
As our contribution to this most worthwhile day, Liverpool Motor Club will be looking after the activities on-track, so we need at least half a dozen people to keep the circuit under observation. A dozen free buffet lunches have been sponsored for our marshals but I'm sure you will understand that on this occasion no travel expenses will be paid.
Can you come along and help out? Most observer/marshals can sit in their cars and will really only be making sure that everyone gets round safely, and that the course controller is informed about any cars that stop/break down.
This is an incredibly worthwhile event. It's taken 2 years of negotiations to get to this point, so I hope you can come along and help. To volunteer, please post a reply on this thread, or contact me, John Harden on 0161 969 7137 or email me via www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/about/contact-us
Lets help make this a day that the kids will never forget.

The "Bears", as we are affectionately known, are a dedicated group of classic car and sports car enthusiasts with one primary aim - To raise money for Children's Charities through our own social and touring events, and to support other charitable events. It is to the club's credit that annual subscriptions support the club overheads thus allowing all monies raised from events to be directed towards the selected Charities. Since the Club was formed in 1989 we have been very active and have raised over £800,000 for children's charities in the UK.
