Bugger , I missed the cut as did my pal and we were really looking forward to this plus I only managed about four laps last year due to faulty rocker gear. Will there be a reserve list ?
Cheers

That must be a record for filling an event! Bookings opened on Thursday evening, Groups A & B were full by Sunday, and bookings pouring in for C& D too.
Are we charging enough? :-)

Cheers

Well as John says in the brefing there is always one engine that goes and this weekend it was mine. Unfortunatly it was driver error as selecting 2nd instead of 4th coming out of beeches at 70mph is not good. Luckly the damage may not be too bad with may be a couple of bent valves or head gasket. We will find out wednesday or thursday when our mechanic takes a look.
I would like to thank the guys who had the compression tester and helped me out, much appreciated!!
Dispite the car problems the rest of the day was enjoyable with the great weather and some good action on track which i watched as a marshell in the afternoon.
Will be back next month for the sprint as long as the repair goes smoothly

Just like to say what a top day on saturday....i was driving the silver mitsubishi evo 6 (2 boost pipes came off first 2 sessions, too much boost...2 bar )...sorry if i got in anybodys way limping back to the pits.....went great after better hose clamps. Very well run day....the briefing still takes too long tho... ;D Warm and very hard on the car and tyres (shredded 4) but a great day. Not many stoppages which is great to see,but when there was they were dealt with very well/quick to be fair Restored my faith in aintree after a one off bad day last year. Roll on september thanks

Great set of photos there Brin - an excellent job with your new camera.
What they do show up is the wildly differing lines that people were taking through Village corner. Anyone to the left of the big black patch was WAY off line! Perhaps it's just as well we couldn't see that from event control. Ah well, at least everyone (virtually everyone) managed to stay on the track all day.
Roll on the next one!
