What they do show up is the wildly differing lines that people were taking through Village corner. Anyone to the left of the big black patch was WAY off line! Perhaps it's just as well we couldn't see that from event control. Ah well, at least everyone (virtually everyone) managed to stay on the track all day. Roll on the next one! Is that patch the apex of that corner then?

Oops, sorry Kev, I missed your question. The big patch is before the apex, so cars should be crossing it sort of diagonally as they drop down into the corner, apexing beyond the patch. We put a yellow marker at the apex to help people new to the venue (as well as a cone to mark the turning in point). Of course, these should only be used as an indication as the car (FWD / RWD / 4WD, with/without aerodynamic aids etc) and driver's skill will all have an effect on the ideal "racing line". Note the tyre marks before & beyond the patch left by cars (& bikes) - left hand wheels in the case of cars. Note also the yellow marker in distance on the right:-
