Confirmation received that once again LMC will be running the Flying Finish/Stop for this years stages at Weeton. The following quote from Ken Wilkinson at Stockport 061 should set the scene! '' The frost is dusting the hedgerows, the cattle are safely tucked up in the barns, the morning dew is gently glinting on the grass; oh sorry, wrong weather forecast. The wind is blowing a gale, the rain is horizontal, (that’s better); in the distance above the roar of the wind, you can just make out the sound of a million angry bees and the sound of tortured rubber, suddenly the first rally car bursts into view, teetering on the edge of self induced disaster. Yes, my little helpers, (Orson Wells voice), probably the best multi venue rally in the North West is back at Weeton. Stockport 061 are running 6 stages in 3 pairs of two at Weeton Army Camp on the Saturday and to stop you freezing to death, the organisers, (bless them), have arranged that there is only approximately 30 mins between pairs, so the change rounds will help to keep you warm: not overselling it am I? Signing on is between 7.30-8.30am, with a civilised finish at approximately 6pm. A goody bag will be provided by the organisers but no food, so if you can remember the joy of the freezing rain last year, I suggest that you bring HOT FOOD and plenty of warm and waterproof clothing. One thing we can provide, is a top class entry, with last year’s winner Tony Bardy chased by the event sponsor John Stone’s Skoda and a host of other high quality Subaru and Escort cars.''

Looks like the usual small but enthusiastic team of rally fanatics will be running flying finish/stop at Weeton. Shame we can't get some more of the club's alleged rally enthusiasts to join us. Who wouldn't want to help run the only REAL modern rally in the North West? www.nwstages.co.uk

All systems go for Saturday. 17 happy volunteers means Flying Finish/Stop fully manned with In-stage Marshals also provided. STOP PRESS Course opener to be driven by two times British Champion Jonny Milner. Plus, even better, course closer to be driven by our very own 'Safari'.
