More wise words from our friend Ken Wilkinson at Stockport 061 MC;
'For those of a more mature nature, me included, you will be pleased to note that the event takes place the weekend before the hour change, so no loss of sleep; GREAT. We are expecting a good entry, given that we are registered for the major championships, so this should provide plenty to interest: although we can’t guarantee what car last year’s winner Steve Chamberlain will be using, as he changes his cars more often than most men change their socks. Signing on is between 7.00-8.00am, with the finish by 6pm. We have retained our normal team, so we can offer a good entry, exciting stages and uniquely quick turn rounds, to maintain the excitement. There is the usual free meal ticket, hot food van and initially clean toilets.'
YES we're at Weeton again, running Flying Finish (again)and hopefully supplying some in-stage Marshals! Anyone who was there last year can testify to an excellent event, and surprisingly clement weather If you want to help your favourite Motor Club let me know, on the forum or on mainespeed[@]live.co.uk
We already have in place an excellent team so if you've not marshalled with us before, don't be shy. We won't drop you in at the deep end, and you may even enjoy the experience
OK so we're all ready for this weekend. Shame we can't supply in-stage marshals this time out,unless there are some more willing volunteers out there.......? Fully manned on Flying Finish & Stop with our hardy band of old duffers regulars. Only 3 changes of location this year, with the second & third close together. Don't forget your sun tan lotion!
