We are pleased to report that Ashleigh, the Marshal injured at the track day (30 Sept) is recovering well. Luckily, he wasn't actually hit by the car, but was struck by debris from the Grand National Fence. Unfortunately, he has suffered a broken pelvis so will be laid up for some time, though there is hope that he will be allowed home next week to continue his convalescence in more familiar surroundings. Ashleigh is our youngest marshal at Aintree, but doesn't seem to have been put off motorsport. His parents reckon their biggest challenge will be to stop him getting back on his motorbike too soon!
We have been passing on everyones messages of support to Ashleigh, who is amazed at the response. Many thanks everyone.
All other parties involved in the incident were discharged from hospital after treatment on the day of the event, though the car has been less lucky!
The Club would particularly like to thank Extractor Rescue, Dr David Powell & Keith Knowles (Paramedic) for their "text book" response and expert treatment of the casualties. We couldn't have wished for better.

very sorry to hear a marshal was injured, motorsport is dangerous, but would be a lot worse if it wasnt for the tireless efforts of the marshals,at least we are in reasonably secure boxes, unlike the marshals who rely on instinct or quick reflexes.i do hope you recover soon, and look forward to attending aintree again.as being the car behind when the accident occured,it wasnt very pleasant to witness,i do have an onboard camera but the quality of the video isnt that good, its a bit shaky im trying to get some copies done get well soon.tim cooper [driver of the qrsport audi]&the qrsport crew

I heard about this at the weekend from Russell Thorpe. I hope Ashleigh recovers quickly. Perhaps we could organise a whip-round during the awards night for him?

Excellent idea - would be a good way for competitors to show their appreciation.
