Some of you might already know that on 24th February Joanna our esteemed newsletter editor is going to jump out of a plane to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and she after more sponsorship if you would like to help please click on the link to her fundraising website: www.justgiving.com/joandcandice and make a donation to this worthy charity Repeated bad weather has meant the date has been postponed twice and she will be jumping from 10,000ft and freefalling at 120mph. Whatever she manages to raise, her employer has agreed to double this – so far £1200 has been donated and this is before being doubled! Please help if you can Ron

Jo has already received pledges & donations of £1227 from folk sponsoring her skydive. I still think she's mad, but then isn't everyone in LMC? If you havent sponsored her yet.... Ah, go-on, go-on, go-on, you know you want to! It's so easy, & think how good you will feel too! www.justgiving.com/joandcandice

Oh no! Unbelievably, the flight was called off again. Something about no-one having wound up the elastic band I guess ? As soon as I hear of a rescheduled attempt I'll let you all know !

Message from loopy Jo, aka Joanna Lawton the Editor of the Club's Bulletin:- On Saturday 31st March 2007 work colleague Candice Geddes and myself eventually (at the 4th attempt) found a day that was perfect weather to complete our sponsored skydive. With beautiful sunshine & a slight wind we left the plane and freefell at a speed of 120mph for 30 seconds, the parachutes were then opened and we were whisked 'upward' to eventually gently float to the ground – of course all helped by 2 lovely men who were probably glad to get rid of us (we think they thought we were mad)! I have absolutely no idea why I thought it was a good idea to stick my arms and legs out like a star, Candice took the more traditional position for parachuting!! Thank you for sponsoring us to skydive to raise money on behalf of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) With your help to date we have raised a total of £1,528.32, which LifeScan (our employer) will match to make a grand total of £3,054.64. Thank you again for your support. Joanna Lawton
