Now we've just about dried out after NW Stages, it's time to look forward to another trip to Costa del Weeton! SMC Stages are on Sunday 25th. March.
I've already got some willing volunteers who just can't wait. So, if you want to join us leave a message on here or contact me on mainespeed@live.co.uk. There now follows a message from our sponsors(!); We have reverted to the original date which has ensured that we are included in more championships, which will result in a high quality entry for everybody’s enjoyment. Signing on is between 7.00-8.00am, with a finish by 6pm. There will be the usual team in charge, ensuring a great entry, quick turn rounds (which is where you can help), a free breakfast, hot food van and toilets. www.smcstages.co.uk

I need to let Stockport 061 know the level of our assistance , so if you want to step up to the plate let me know ASAP. I have a complete crew for Stop T/C , & possibly a full crew for Flying Finish T/C . Boots on the ground still needed for Stop control marshals.

This is SMC Stages tenth return to Weeton Army Camp. The aim is to run 12 stages covering approximately 50 miles on a mixture of quick and twisty roads, on tarmac & concrete. A good day’s motor sport. The 2012 event is part of the ANWCC Stage Rally Championship, ANWCC Ladies Rally Championship, ANWCC All Rounders Championship, Fuchs Titan Race ANCC Stage Rally Championship and the SD34 MSG Stage Rally Championship (Supported by Gazzard Accounts). ''Don't forget the clocks SPRING forward!!!''

Nice to know we're appreciated!
''I would like you to pass on our thanks for the wonderful effort and support which your members gave to us in helping to run a very efficient and successful event on Sunday.
The competitors certainly appreciated the way the event was run by all the marshals but particularly the fact that the stages were different and more challenging than normally at Weeton. I know that your team weren’t too impressed with moving so often, (neither, I should add was our Chief Timekeeper, who was tasked with moving the equipment) but this allowed our Clerk of the Course to design these unique stages, which resulted in some very flattering compliments from well known competitors. This was in no small way, helped by the support provided in their usual professional and friendly manner, by your club members, which I personally appreciate and which makes my job, so much easier.
And at least a Liverpool Motor Club member won a bottle of wine in the marshals’ draw. I won’t say who it was, because then you’ll all want to share it but suffice it to say, he is the one who always beats me to the venue on the Sunday, what ever the start time.''
