I'm looking forward to two days in the Eagle's Nest - the new commentary box at triangle! Saturday should be a bit frenetic with Sunday more laid back!

Local sources (Hand & Diamond pub!) report road only closed for one day. If concerned come in from Shrewsbury direction no great difference in mileage. Rain in area today but forecast improving Friday into Saturday . This time last year we had the hottest July ever & the weather broke on Saturday just as the event finished!

Exceedingly good! That sums up my weekend at Loton (cakes included) LMC & HDLCC were blessed with sunshine on both days with only light rain over Saturday night! Some hard, but successful, work with portable pumps by regular HDLCC members kept the ponds from overflowing - well done, especially considering the atrocious weather for the past few weeks! I can't comment too much on the competitive side of the weekend as I spent an enjoyable two days on the start line with Will ( a trainee Marshall) on both days and HDLCC regular Barry showing us the ropes on Saturday! I've never been much of a fashion guru but the girls on course control have convinced me that I must in future have my 'hat' colour co-ordinated with my overalls!! One lesson I learned at the weekend is that if you let anyone drive your car - ensure they know where all the essentials are! EG how to open the bonnet in the case of smoke eminating from the engine compartment! No names...no pack drill ...... Thanks to all at LMC & HDLCC for a great weekend - off to the workshop to do some work on the car for next year (HONEST!!!)

Roy, I always thought you were a fashion gurnard! On the competition front two FTDs for Nigel Morris in the DJ Firehawk. Lots of pots for LMC members. Some glorious machinery - perasonal favourite of the weekend was the drop-dead gorgoeus Aston Martin DB3S Special - the special bit was the DB$ GT engine!!!!
