I am trying to find out if there was a race or trial between Liverpool and Edinburgh in the 1920-1930 period? I thought someone on this board might know more since I've trawled the web without finding much information.
My father told me that he drove in such an event in a Bugatti with his friend, an Italian working in Liverpool in the lemon trade. We know that this friend was from Sicily.
I would appreciate any information that anyone might have.

I believe that this was an annual event for many years, and we certainly have medals from that period in our archive collection. eg We're not sure how the events were run, nor who took part, but we suspect that they were of quite high status for the time judging by the quality of the medals awarded to finishers. I would think that there will be reports in Autocar or Motor magazine of the period and the local Liverpool papers would probably carry reports too - the Liverpool Daily Post being the most likely source of information. Hope this helps. John H

Just back from holiday so I've only just seen these responses. Many thanks - I'll follow them up.
