Now thats a shame, in one day i finally managed to rearrange previous arrangements so that i am free on the 6th, find someone else to travel with, and find a serious oil leak down the back of the block (though i suspect drive shaft seals), that coupled with a lack of money means i don't think the Aintree October sprint will be happeneing for me as a driver! However, i will be there, and would like to get some marshalling experience! Who is the best person to contact? I won't be bringing the other halfs Corsa (not after the southport motor show when i never managed to get home ) and will be in the BX 16v which is now running and rather well fettled (other than the oil leak, stupid french car)!

Hi nice to know you want to marshall - I find it gives you, as a driver, a different perspective of things! Contact Bill Gray via the 'contact us' box on the main page - Marshalss@.... or just turn up on the day - certainly you'll get a useful job1 If you're there at 7.00 it really is fun putting out the bales & track equipment! See you there on the 6th!

Hi Vanny, met you at Southport glad you can make it to trackday. You'll be in good company, as well as the usual nutters two lads who marshalled for the first time at the last sprint have promised to come back, as long as there carers let them out for the day! Sign on from 07.00, like Roy said theres plenty to do before the circuit is up & running. PS look forward to seeing the BX

Talking of doing daft things in the interest of Motorsport, I'll be setting things up at Aintree from 2pm Friday (yes, I did say Friday!) if anyone's interested in helping.
Putting our spectator barriers, circuit signs, cones (oh no, not the cones), banners etc it's all terrific fun, well, it's not really that terrific - but someone has to do it!

might be able to come for a couple of hours actually, though if i do i'll be turning up in a brand new 15 seat transit minibus. I also don't really know where i'm going (aintree race track i understand that much), but i'm keen and (for my sins) willing. If there is a PM system i'll use it to send a phone number.

Hi all, well didn't i have fun! Thanks to John for the ever welcoming presence and to Mig45 for taking me under training and to all for providing a truely enjoyable day. Beyond seeing some cars i never expected to see on track, and some i really enjoyed seeing, and not forgetting all the action and entertainment laid on, i really enjoyed my first proper marshalling experience from start to finish.
I even made it home with the car in one piece this time, though seem to have left powersteeing somewhere near the M62, stupid french car!
Have some not wonderful pics, will post them as soon as i get the buggers uploaded.
Cheers
Vanny
