Do you need a charger/conditioner to keep your car battery on top form over the winter? Have a look at the charger being sold by Aldi from Thursday 27th December. www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/58_4632.htm It's only £12.99 and looks pretty much identical to the item sold by a certain well known supllier of classic car covers & canopies at £50. I reckon it is probably made by the same people. It charges car batteries at a max rate of 3.8A & when the battery is fully charged, drops to a trickle charge of 400mA. They say it can be safetly left permanently connected for extended periods - ideal for a car not used over the winter. It also has settings for motorcycle batteries & for pulse charge rescuing dicharged batteries too. I cannot guarantee the product but Aldi usually does for 3 years (check before purchasing). I bought the Lidl version 2 years ago & it does do exactly what it says on the box. An excellent buy, but judging by previous offers, they'll go quickly! And they did!

Lidl are selling their fantastic value 12v car battery charger/conditioner again this week. It's gone up a bit, but at £12.99 it's still a bargain. It's even got a 3 year no quibble guarantee! Once the battery is fully charged, it will continue to trickle charge at just 400mA. It's ideal for a car unused over the winter as they say you can leave it on trickle without fear of overcharging. To be on the safe side, I disconnect mine after a day - but then I'm super stingy (actually, I'm thinking of the enviroment & don't want to waste electrickery!) I know that several members have bought one, & I've not heard of anyone who is disappointed. Be quick though, they sell out quickly. www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20081106.p.Battery_Charger.ar7
