I was standing in as Course Controller as Geoff Ashworth our regular was away on holiday. After a few teething problems with the timekeepers were ironed out it was a relatively trouble free morning with one off and an oil spill to contend with. After lunch I was looking forward to a trouble free afternoon when competitors would have sorted their machinery and learnt by their mistakes. ;D However, it was not to be, but it was not the competitors who threw the proverbial spanner in the works. Enter Apus apus, better known as the Swift. At the end of the 1st run they decided that it was time they joined the party as the sun had made the insects rise and no self respecting Swift is going to miss the opportunity of a good feed. Only thing was they started to break the finish line beam which gave some very interesting times for some cars. Re-runs were needed, and even re-runs of re-runs, which in itself is not a problem except for the fact that there were so many of them it meant some pretty frantic work trying to keep track of them and make sure that all were recalled. And just as quickly as they appeared they were gone to pastures new. The last two sessions went without a hitch. Phew what a relief.

Great job there Moke. Your "control" of the situation could not be faulted - which is more than can be said for your Avian competitors! And well done to the start line crew too. With the number of starts well into the 600's, a great job all round!
