Hi Guys As it says I need some advice on tyres for trackday use. lotus 7 replica with honda fireblade engine, having some great fun at the trackdays, but the yokohama S306's just don't seem to give enough grip and it's always half way through Club that they let go they, any input greatly appreciated 195x50x15 Tony is there anywhere local to get s/hand tyres

Tony There are several tyres that you might want to consider that are a popular fitment on "Caterfields". Yokohama AO21-R's, AO32-R's and AO48's or Kumho Ecsta V70A are all road legal soft compound track tyres. Avon ACB10's are becoming more common and are available in several compounds. If price is a consideration Colway and Maxsport do remould soft compound tyres although you will have to check size availability. Some of the major manufacturers are also catching on to the fact that there is a buck or two to be made from the trackday scene and are producing road legal trackday tyres. You could try some of the owners forums for more info or personal recomendations. Best of luck

Best of luck The Yoko AO48Rs come in normal and soft compounds, if it is just for track days then the soft compound will probably be the best.
