Time to be thinking about Aintree folks! It’s not long now until the first Aintree event of the year, our Sprint on April 24th. The event is fully booked, with 145 cars on the entry list. Marshals are always required of course. Now, there’s an idea. If you are a competitor who didn't get an entry, why not come along anyway & help marshal the event? Last year we had some drivers who actually marshalled for the first time, and they found it most enjoyable. The experience of watching the amazing variety of lines taken by their fellow drivers certainly opened their eyes! Whilst previous experience is useful, it is not essential and there are duties away from the trackside too for those who’d rather not get too close to the action! Please contact our Chief Marshal Bill Gray www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/about/contact-us/, or marshals' co-ordinator Pete Proudley rcwcom1@yahoo.co.uk to volunteer for one or more events in 2010. Will you be there? I will...! Future Aintree events:- 29th May - Track Day 26th June - Sprint 4th September - Sprint 16th September - Greenpower Car Races 2nd October - Track Day

Thanks for volunteering - Look forward to seeing you there.

Speedsport Sorry for the interjection regarding signing on at 07.30 but Bill can always do with help at 07.00 (when the farmer arrives with the bales) to set up the track. Regretfully I can't make it this April.

Just let us know if you want me there earlier i dont live far from the track If you dont mind being there at around 7am, I'm sure Bill would be over the moon to have some extra help to set out the straw bales - if you are up to it! (I'll ask him to email you separately.) Vanny & Roy will be helping too, so if the bales are done by the time you get there, there's always other setting up to do! Thanks for offering to help - it's quite unusual these days!

Good day today , nice to see everyone after the winter break. Eventful day with a few off's or spins at various places but the best type - no one hurt. Can we book the same weather for the rest of the year please, just nice, not too hot and not too windy

Mind you in the commentary box it was cosy-warm.

Can I just pass on my thanks to everybody involved in yesterdays event, to the people who helped set up on Friday - Vanny and Pete (sorry to hear about your finger, I hope it is OK), to all the marshals who turned up on Saturday and to the people who stayed and helped clear up post event - thanks. Comments from competitors was universally good with how slick an event it was the common theme.
Thanks again, Phil Gough, Clerk of the Course

The event was close to perfection. Despite a couple of hold-ups in practice you still managed to put on 6 runs for us. By my back-of-f*g-packet calculation, the startline crew still managed to set us off, on average, at less than 30 second intervals for 6 hours. Absolutely bloody brilliant.
I really appreciated the 64 ft. & final speed trap times in the results, so thanks to the timing unit too.
Great to see the classic Loti out too – works of art.
Finally, the weather was spot-on too – suggest commentators wrap up in double-layer nomex (insert smiley thingy here).

I really enjoyed this weekend, cracking weather, everything seemed to go to plan even with late critical deliveries. I even got to do a whole lap on the top of the tractor! Unfortunatley the weekend has rather made me miss the BX, which means absolutley no money for the next 4 months while i madly fling it at the rust heap in time for the October meet
