Hello all,
Am intending joining LMC as i have had a urge for a long time to et involved in motor sport (originally bike racing but an accident killed that idea), anyway i love cars as much as bikes. Now i have got rid of the money pit that was an impreza i can afford to get into sprinting. have done a track day of sorts on curborough (in the scooby) and oulton park.
anyway, the application for my national B non race ticket is in the post, my seat ibiza fr tdi pd 130 (don't laugh) has had the revo treatment and piper cross panel filter and a strut brace and I'm read to do a sprint or two for fun this year.
not read the book, is my car still classed as standard with the revo remap?

Welcome aboard! The remapping of the engine should not be a problem, similarly the other two mods you mentioned should be OK. What is the capacity of the engine in the SEAT? With the various equivalencies applied you may end up in the Up to 1400 class!

Its a 1900 TDI, 170+ Bhp, 300 ish Lb Ft (yet to be ran on a rolling road)

Its a 1900 TDI, 170+ Bhp, 300 ish Lb Ft (yet to be ran on a rolling road) I think that will put you in the OVER two litre class!

Without Prejudice, E&OE etc!!!! Just to cover myself! I'm still waiting for my Blue Book & proper licence for 2007 (have a Temp Licence) but unless the rules have changed a Turbo diesel is rated at it's actual engine size as the factor for a diesel is - 1.4 and the turbo/supercharged factor is + 1.4! IE a 1.4 normal diesel is rated as a 1.00 engine etc.etc. Clear as mud??? (Thinks - !30 bhp? - must tune the Uno Turbo then {1.3, rated as 1.82 !!}) Good Luck!

I calculate from the formula quoted in our speed championship regs that you would be in the 1400cc to 2000cc class
<Equivalence Forced induction equivalence; multiply capacity by 1.4 Diesel engine equivalence; multiply capacity by 0.714 Forced induction diesel engine equivalence; multiply capacity by 1.4 x 0.714 = 1.00 Rotary engines equivalence; multiply capacity by 1.5 Forced induction rotary engine equivalence; multiply capacity by 1.4 x 1.5 = 2.1>
Unfortunately there are none quoted in the Blue Book and the above was taken from the Midland Speed Championship regs who seemed to be the only one with any drawn up.
Full regulations for speed events can be found in section L of the blue book which hopefully you will receive a copy with your 2007 licence.

The only way there can be an equivalency applied to diesel engines is if they are in either (a) the championship regulations within which you are competing, or (b) in the specific regs for each meeting. Therefore the capacity of a turbodiesel engine would be multipied by the 1.4 equivalence making a 1.9 litre engine 2.66 litres.

Ouch my head hurts. thanks for the response So looks like i'll be in the two litre + class then i gues. Don't think il be winnig much then , But im sure i'll still enjoy myself. Anyway got the photo's now so my license application is in the post, next step get my membership sorted for LMC , One down side to what i would like to be my first season, i have got to go to hospital for an op mid march and that will put me out of action for 6 - 8 weks.

Hopefully I am going to sort that for the Aintree and the LMC Loton events by including the equivalence formula in our regs so as to conform with our championship regs and I am going to bring up the problem with the MSA. This would then mean my earlier post would then apply at our events i.e. the 1400cc to 2000cc class. Ron
