;)when the weather is bad like yesterday, could we get some hot drinks without paying the golf clubs prices? I have been thinking about as well. I will put it on this months committee agenda for discussion and you never know they might be available for the trackday.

Good idea, we were thinking similar while the rain was doing it's thing, maybe a soup urn or something would be good at lunchtime, don't know how practical that would be (catering size tin of tomato soup or something equally generic and likely to be palatable for most people ?)

Not sure what the Health & Safety aspects are but a kettle and packs of Cup-a-soup may be a cheaper and more easily managed alternative. Similarly a kettle plus teabags, coffee, sugar and milk may also solve the hot drinks conundrum.

Right.... we now have obtained a nice new hot water urn which will be located behind the marshal's signing on desk in the pavilion. It will be fired up (do you fire up electrickery?!!!) first thing in the morning and should provide 30 - 40 cups of water for tea & coffee which we will provide too. Not sure about soup at the moment as it will have a shorter sell by date and (particularly as this is the last event of the season) we will then have storage issues over the winter. However, it is something we can look at for next year. The urn will be available for all marshals & event officials, but not competitors. We have to draw the line somewhere and we mustn't deprive the golf centre cafe franchisee of too much income. Now, of course, having arranged this to help our long suffering marshals get warm, this weekend looks like being most unseasonably fine & temperatures way above normal. And before anyone asks, no we will not be installing a fridge from which to dispense the cold amber nectar!
