My car is a 14 year old Imported car, Suspension available is only aftermarket, the Suspension i upgraded to came with the spherical top mounts with no option for any other. Ian, a couple of questions for you ...... 1) is the original suspension unit NOT available through the manufacturer's oulets? 2) you say that you "upgraded to" what is on the car currently, was there an option of a 'replacement' that matched the original specification? 1. My car is a 4 door 1996 Impreza Sti, the only 'stock' suspension i can get is the UK Turbo 2000 suspension which is far inferior to the STI strutt. 2. There are several aftermarket manufactures that make replacement strutts but i chose to put on Tein Coilovers for cost, aftersales service, parts availabilty. As i have said i have no real issue with being in Modified but my car is fairly standard, Stock engine, stock gearbox, stock diffs, stock brakes, stock wheels, stock body panel, Complete interior, all stock switchgear e/w c/l e/m a/c abs work as they should. I have a bolt in roll cage, race seat with harness, and bolt on ancilss exhaust, induction, oil cooler, larger intercooler and makes 40bhp more than when new. Does this sound like a Modifed Production Class car?

IF there had been no replacement available from the manufacturers and the "coilovers" were the only alternative available then you may have been in with a shout of remaining in Road-Going.

This really puts me in a predicament now, I cant go in Roadgoing because i have a bearing at the top of my suspension strutt.
I cant go in Modified because my Roll cage has 2 bends (dash dodger) in the front Vertical hoop leg.
I wont be racing if both these are the case.

I cant go in Modified because my Roll cage has 2 bends (dash dodger) in the front Vertical hoop leg. Contact the manufacturer of the Roll-Cage and ask them for the specification and a copy of the MSA or FIA documentation. Once you have either or both contact a Scrutineer.
